Blue water sailing - making the world your Oyster

For many yachtsmen planning their voyage of a lifetime, Oyster has become their preferred choice.

In the first Europa around the world event an Oyster was the overall cruising division winner, while in the Trade Winds round the World Rally, one third of the entire fleet of over 20 yachts were Oysters. Each year more owners come ashore to join our growing list of circumnavigators.

Oyster 72For many owners, their voyage of a lifetime is often well planned as a reward for their own achievements and, whether sailing with just family or friends or with a professional crew, there will be a yacht in the Oyster range to suit every ambition.

Technology has made operating a relatively large yacht easy with powered winches and push button sail handling systems. Creature comforts on board have also improved, with every yacht configured for long distance cruising having a watermaker, so crews can start the day with a shower, and air conditioning for the lower latitudes.
Oyster 72The navigator's job has been made much easier too with screen based GPS plotters taking the stress out of making an accurate landfall with confidence and in safety.

Communications have improved dramatically in recent years with satellite telephone and other systems enabling many owners to continue to keep an eye on business via voice and email while cruising long distance. There are obvious safety advantages with reliable, straightforward communications being available.

We believe one of the most important factors, which makes our yachts so suitable for live aboard cruising, is the enormous fund of experience that we have gained through owner feedback over hundreds of yachts, sailing millions of blue water miles. There really is no substitute for experience and our direct relationship with our customers and full after sales support gives us great feed back that helps make great yachts even better.
