Rob’s love of sailing and boats started at a young age. His father was a captain in the navy so he grew up in the naval dockyard adjacent to the Simon’s Town Yacht Club in Cape Town, South Africa. His first paid boating job was running the yacht club launch at the age of 13. He completed his first trans-atlantic at the age of 18 and was placed third in the Cape Town to Rio de Janeiro race on a Mount Gay 30.
After studying marketing and business management Rob was quick to realise the corporate world was not for him and returned to the yachting industry first as a sailing instructor and later as a yacht skipper in the Mediterranean and Caribbean. Rob is a patient and knowledgeable teacher and enjoys getting everyone involved. His love of watersports is contagious and with the extensive range of watersport equipment onboard there is plenty to keep you entertained.
Camilla hails from a surfer’s paradise on the east coast of South Africa. After acquiring her degree in Physiotherapy she set off for the UK to earn pounds to fund her travels. Her adventures took her over several continents, teaching her a great deal about different cultures and local food. It was while sailing the Adriatic coast of Croatia that she met Rob. It didn’t take much convincing for him to lure her into the professional world of sailing and they started their married life working aboard an Oyster 56.
Growing up working in her family’s seafood restaurant has made Camilla a confident and capable chef. She is creative in the galley and enjoys sourcing fresh and local ingredients. She cooks with a health conscious mind using low fat and low sodium products so that delicious desserts can be enjoyed guilt-free. Gifted in attending to people’s needs, she takes pleasure in catering to guest’s preferences and prides herself in attention to detail. Rob and Camilla are waiting to welcome you onboard and ensure that you have a holiday of a lifetime.
